12-19-08 I viewed an interesting interfaith dialogue today on the Bridges TV channel. One of the participants stated, "At the deepest part of ourselves we are not different". That led to these thoughts.
At the deepest part of ourselves we are completely at home, a place of peace and comfort.
At the deepest part of ourselves our hearts merge and become one. Then all that separates and divides is finally understood as being insignificant and arising out of fear and ignorance.
When I am at this deepest part of myself I am in everything and everything is in me.
When you and I are at this deepest part of ourselves we are ONE. |

12-18-08 Would it not be wonderful if Jerusalem could be an independent city-state dedicated to promoting peace, healing and unity for the human family. I believe you can come to this idea from many different perspectives but at root I believe is a deep universal yearning for the banishment of fear and the triumph of love. My particular perspective can be found on this site by going to the home page and clicking on Writings and then on "The Call: Jerusalem." It seems to me that the only way this can be achieved in a good way is for clergy and religious leaders from the three Abrahamic traditions - Jewish, Christian and Muslim to actively speak out and promote this idea among members of their respective faiths. These are the faith traditions that have historical ties to Jerusalem. In this way I think it just might be possible to build a constituency that could generate the energy needed to realize this dream. I am interested in joining with others to work toward the achievement of this goal. I would be deeply grateful if you can help me network with others who might be interested in this project. 12-30-05 I just received wonderful news from Swami Veda Bharati giving me permission to include his writings and list his websites on my web site. Swami Veda is an inspiring teacher and spiritual guide. I am posting his essay "The Perennial in the Millennium" under "Writings". |

12-9-05 It has been a little over a year since Dan Coleman of Corporate Big set up this great web site for me. I will soon start adding more material under Perennial Psychology of the Bible - Draft for Volumn 2. My original motivation was to go back to my birth tradition of Judaism to see if the Tanakh (Jewish Bible more popularly known as the Old Testament) could be understood in a way that could provide a loving universal message for humanity rather than in a way that establishes and reinforces division and conflict. It seemed imperative to me that as our numbers, knowledge and technical powers increase we need to find some unifying vision based on love, compassion, understanding and respect for each other, our planet mother earth and all the species that she has given birth to and nurtured. Failing that I fear we will continue to bring increasing misery to ourselves and a spiral of death and destruction to the ability of our mother Earth to continue to support and nourish our life. I believe that all of the worlds religious scriptures have a pure gold divine thread of infinite, unconditional, selfless, love woven into them and that if we can uncover and make known that thread it can usher in the wonderful reality depicted in the first creation story in Genesis (See Perennial Psychology of the Bible - Vol 1, pages 25 to 43) |
