General Science—Elementary

General Science is a broad base of knowledge in the field of science. Students in the General Science—Elementary program study a range of introductory courses from different areas of science including biology, chemistry, physics, and geology, with preparation for teaching at the elementary level.

French — Elementary

The French - Elementary program satisfies the academic major requirement for teacher certification with an endorsement in Elementary Education and must be accompanied by the professional preparation program in Elementary Education.

Disability and Advocacy

Completion of this major results in a BA in Education. Students who complete this major typically seek employment in non-school settings, such as health and human services and non-profit organizations; they do not qualify for a teaching certificate.

Environmental Studies — Elementary

Earth Science — Secondary

Earth Science/General Science — Secondary

Do you like to know why and how things work? Do you enjoy the outdoors? Are you concerned about the environment? Want to teach Earth science and other sciences to middle or high school students? This degree leads to recommendations for teaching endorsements in Earth & Space Science and Science.

Early Childhood Special Education

This rigorous major combines content in Special Education with that in Early Childhood. It prepares students to work with children (birth–8) who are at-risk for developmental delay and disability.

Early Childhood Special Education P-3 and Early Childhood Education P-3 (Dual Endorsement)

Combines studies in Early Childhood and Special Education and leads teaching certification with endorsements in Early Childhood Special Education and Early Childhood Education (P-3).

Early Childhood Education — Non Certification

This program is for students who are not seeking certification to work in the public schools. Graduates can work in childcare centers, preschools, Head Start programs, and in after-school programs for school-age children.
