Ethnic Studies

Ethnic Studies centers the histories, epistemologies and lived experiences of minoritized peoples and Indigenous nations. A major in Ethnic Studies trains students to understand the social dynamics that govern communities of color, teaches them about diverse histories of resistance and liberation movements, and empowers then to enact social change towards a more just world and the betterment of the lives of BIPOC and minoritized people.

Sociology for Professionals

Sociologists examine topics encompassing a vast array of human behavior: crime and punishment, the formation and dissolution of families, bureaucracy in organizations, conflicts between classes, and global inequalities. Sociology for Professionals is distinctive in its focus on assisting people already in helping professions to advance their career with a degree. These contexts include tailored explorations of areas such as generation, occupation, gender, religion, sexual orientation, family, health, nation, race and ethnicity, and many others.

Natural Resource Management (Extension)

Using an interdisciplinary approach, the Natural Resource Management program focuses on problem-solving and implementing shared visions to effect laws and policies that monitor and manage environmental and climate change. These laws and policies protect diverse, culturally appropriate, health-driven, economically viable landscapes — in the United States and worldwide.
