Environmental Studies

Do you want to use your knowledge and skills to promote positive change in the environment? Do you want to understand the interactions and interdependencies between human and natural systems? Environmental Studies takes an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to understanding human-environment systems and environmental challenges.

Environmental Policy

Learn and apply innovative approaches to city planning and to improve the quality of communities from the local to the global level. The program stresses progressive change that leads to equitable, healthy, livable, and sustainable communities with an emphasis on social and environmental justice and equity.

English—Literature Emphasis

The English Literature major focuses on the study of literatures in historical and cultural contexts and includes course work in literary theory, creative writing, and composition and rhetoric.

English — Creative Writing Emphasis

The Creative Writing program focuses on writing courses: creative writing in fiction, drama, poetry, or nonfiction prose and includes coursework in literature to supplement the creative writing courses.

Energy Policy and Management

This is an interdisciplinary program that gives students knowledge and skills concerning energy policy and the energy business through courses in economics, environmental studies, environmental science, and various business disciplines, while also providing a solid background in basic energy science concepts.

Economics/Social Studies

This major is open to any student who desires to study Economics and a variety of other social sciences, but it is specifically designed for students who wish to pursue a career in teaching. Secondary Education students who wish to be endorsed in Social Studies may choose this major, however, you are not required to pursue a teaching certificate.

Economics/Political Science

This major will provide you with an interdisciplinary perspective important to understanding both political and economic issues. You'll gain insight into trade, monetary systems, development, and the interplay between politics and economics within the U.S. and the international system.

Economics / Environmental Studies

Students who choose this degree will learn how to use economic principles to help understand the economic causes of environmental problems and how to identify potential remedies through law and policy. The degree awarded is a B.A. in Economics.

Economics/Accounting

This major is designed for students wishing to obtain a strong preparation in both Economics and Accounting, and is an excellent undergraduate program for those who are considering pursuing a Masters of Business Administration.
